Looking at the images you will find different stories composed of series of images, where each one is telling its own story, "speaking" by itself and configuring with the others a coherent body of work. Many of the "Storytellers" are editorial and documentary but you'll find in this selection other works expressing from surrealistic approaches to intimate portraits of family lives. We are proud to have had the occasion of gathering this impressive collection of stories told with images.

About the winner, Kerry Mansfield, lets quote Mary Ellen Mark when she awarded Kerry with an Honorable Mention in our first edition of The Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Women Photographers: "Kerry Mansfield, a very beautiful young woman photographed her battle against breast cancer. These images haunted me. They were so personal and daring. This is an obvious idea, but she managed to stay away from any cliché or sense of self-pity or sentimentality. The photographs are bold, brave. I’ll never forget them. This is something the best of photography is able to do." The images of the first runner up, Hugh Jones, are an exercise of imagination mixing the human figure with the literature. The second runner up, the excellent Italian documentary photographer Giuliano Koren, display sensitive images with a subtle but dramatic denounce of the Srebrenica genocide. The third runner up, Nermine Hammam from the nowadays troubled Cairo offers us a naïf and wora vision of the Genesis; and the fourth runner up, the provocative and creative Italian artist Patrizia Burra shows a humoristic vision of the daily life while at the same time offers a critic of the macho chauvinistic approach regarding the role of the women. In the honorable mentions, as well as in the finalists' images, you'll find plenty of works that deserve to be seen and published. Just take a look and enjoy the creativeness of our artists.
